A denture or a complete denture as it is usually termed is a device that is installed in the mouth, replaces original teeth, and offers support for the cheeks and lips.
MOST DENTAL DENTURES ARE CREATED OF ACRYLIC AND CAN BE MADE IN TWO DIFFERENT WAYS.
The teeth are composed of porcelain, plastic, or a combination thereof. Dentures can be created to fit over endodontics treated teeth while a complete denture can be fixed to dental implants to provide a more secure fit of the device.
Dentures after a normal course of time will wear and require changing or relining to keep the jaw alignment normal. The alignment will gradually change as the bone and gum ridges shrink or recede because of the removal of the teeth. Regular dental exams are still crucial for the denture patient so that the oral tissues can be examined for disease or change.
